CAYO SANTA MARIA IS CASA BATIDA'S NEW SITE IN CUBA
The always smiling Fabrizio Barbazza, Manager of Casa Batida,
have given fishermen some of the best fishing experiences in the
world through his old site at Cayo Largo.
Now he's doing it again, at Cayo Santa Maria.
Cayo Santa Maria may not be known by many Europeans from before,
but we think this place will be on the lips of every serious
Tropical fisher in the future.
The consept at Cayo Santa Maria is the same as it always have
beed through Casa Batida, with the same good service as always.
Some of the experienced guides from Cayo Largo is also present at
the new site.
The reports from fishermen which have been fishing at the new
site, tells that there is big amounts of HUGE Tarpons Cruising
around! And we got pictures of fish that people normally just dream
about...
Together with world record sized Permits and big bonefish, this
could be the right place for a Grand Slam with record sized
fish!!

FISHING AND ACCOMODATION IN
CAYO SANTA MARIA
From December 2008, Casa
Batida have had the management of the fishing area situated in the north
coast of Villa Clara province in the west sector of Jardines del Rey.
Unesco has declared this region a
reserve of the biosphere. The
area is beautiful, with channels, mangroves and flats and
tarpon fishing is world
class.
Casa
Batida will provide all services from your arrival in Havana.
VIP welcome, airport transfers, accommodation in Havana and Cayo
Las Brujas (full board) or Cayo Santa Maria (all inclusive),
organisation of fishing, camp services, etc.
There are 8 boats available. 4 Hewes
Bonefisher 17' with 75HP and 90hp (those they had in Cayo
Largo) and 4 brand new Carolina Skiff Sea Chaser with 60HP. They
are all equipped for fly fishing and spinning, with cooler, life
jackets, first aid kit, and radios. They are well adapted to fish
in very shallow water or offshore on the reefs and drop offs
located nearby.
There
are several options for accommodation
Near the fishing club, in very nice
bungalows, just by a beautiful white sandy beach or in the Cayo
nearby in a Sol Melia 5* all inclusive hotel. The islands are
beautiful and hotels offer the same high quality standards than in
Varadero or Cayo Largo.
Cayo Santa Maria is easy to reach by
car or by plane from Havana. A 48 km causeway links Cayo Las
Brujas, Cayo Ensenachos and finally Cayo Santa Maria where the
hotels are located.
The
package include: VIP Reception in Havana Airport, domestic
flight, all transfers inside Cuba, 8 nights sharing
accomodation(Havana 5* Hotel and in Cayo Santa Maria 5* all
inclusive), 6 full days fishing sharing a skiff, beverages on
board, free fly tackle rental.
Day 1: VIP welcome in Havana. Transfer
to Hotel in Havana or direct transfer to your hotel in Cayo Santa
Maria by car (+/- 4 hours).
Day 2: flight to Cayo Santa Maria
early in the morning (if you staid in Havana on day 1). Fishing
briefing in the afternoon.
Day 3 - 8: 6 days fishing.
Day 9: transfer by car to Havana
airport for your international flight.
All
other kind of package can be organized, from 4 to 12 days
fishing.
